Volhynian Noble Deputy Assembly

The Volhynian Noble Deputy Assembly was a body of noble self-government, created to regulate the affairs of the nobility in Volhynia Province (gubernia). It was founded in 1796. The Assembly operated on the basis of the "Charter to the Nobility" (1785) of Catherine II and was part of the system of noble institutions of the Russian Empire.

The project presents the surnames of the provincial nobility whose noble case files are stored in the State Archive of Zhytomyr Oblast: Fond 146, Inventory 1. The number next to a surname corresponds to the case number in the aforementioned inventory.

 

The project's goal is to help people interested in their origins to facilitate the search for information about their ancestors. For convenience, it is recommended to use the Ctrl+F shortcut.
